Maiden edition of Kwara Beach Volleyball tournament has been scheduled for December 27th and 28th, 2024, at WaterView Park in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The tournament, according Dare Kuti, the Media Assistant to President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engr Musa Nimrod, at a Press Conference today, Monday November 4, 2024, was designed to promote the game, and discover new talent for future competitions.
“We believe that this tournament will provide a vital platform for athletes to showcase their skills and passion for the sport.
“I am pleased to announce that the tournament is open to a wide range of participants, including athletes from military and paramilitary organizations as well as students from tertiary institutions across the state.
“This inclusivity aims to foster a spirit of competition and camaraderie among diverse groups.
“To ensure the success of this event, we are collaborating with key organizations, including the Kwara State Volleyball Association, the Nigeria Volleyball Referees Association (Kwara State), the University of Ilorin, the Kwara State Sports Commission, and the Ministry of Youth Development.
“Together, we will work tirelessly to create an unforgettable experience for all involved.
“We are therefore, actively seeking partnerships with investors and prominent individuals, both within Kwara State and beyond, to support this initiative. Your contributions will be instrumental in enhancing the tournament and further promoting beach volleyball in Nigeria.
Kuti urged the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara chapter to support the initiative, by publicizing the tournament, help to raise awareness and encourage participation from all corners of our community.
Kuti equally commended and congratulated Engr. Nimrod for his support, and on his recent appointment athletes the international level.
“I would like to extending my heartfelt congratulations to Engr Musa Nimrod on his recent appointment as President of the CAVB Beach Volleyball Commission. This is a significant achievement, not just for him but for the entire Nigerian sports community.
