The Kwara state xhapter of the Sports Writers of Nigeria (SWAN) has felicitated with it’s Grand Patron, the Elerin of Erin Ile, Oba AbdulGaniyu Olusookun the 2nd, on the ocassion of his 39th year on the throne.
The association’s felicitation was contained in a statement signed by its Secretary, Olayinka Owolewa on Friday in Ilorin.
The statement said the reign of the first class monarch has witnessed meaningful developments, especially his passion for peaceful co-existence among his subjects not only in his domain but Kwara at large.
They described Oba AbdulGaniyu Olusookun as sports-loving traditional ruler who has invested heavily on the development of the firl-child, through female football (Moje Queens) in Kwara.
Kwara SWAN reminded that the traditional ruler, who is a former athlete himself, was always identifying with the association especially at critical time.
The statement prayed Allah to grant the him more blissful years ahead to celebrate more anniversaries on the throne of his ancestors.
