*Coach Sarduana asked to step aside
The management of Abubakar Bukola Saraki Ilorin Football Club has announced that the team will embark on a short mid-season break, effective immediately.
The break is scheduled to last until March 10th, 2025.
At the club’s management meeting held on Monday, March 3rd, 2025, presided over by the Club’s Director of Football, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, several key decisions were taken regarding the future of the club.
Firstly, Head Coach, Sani Ahmed Sarduana has been asked to step aside, while Coach Toafeeq Babatunde will take over as Interim Coach, pending further directives.
Coach Salaudeen Adeyinka, popularly known as Coach Keshi has also been drafted in as Assistant Coach of the Club.
Furthermore, the management has decided to retain only 23 players from the current squad.
The decision was aimed at restructuring and strengthening the team for the remainder of the season.
In addition, the management has taken a firm stance on players who have absconded from the club without approved permission, and It has been affirmed that none of the players will be allowed to return to the club on ground of indiscipline.
