Kwara South’s football enthusiasts are in for a treat as Rt. Hon. Tunji Olawuyi Ajuloopin, member representing Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun, and Oke-Ero Federal Constituency of Kwara State, has announced the 2nd edition of the Asoju Oba Football Competition.
The Chief of Staff (CoS) to the Federal Lawmaker, Jide Adekeye, announced this in a statement on Friday.
According to the CoS, the tournament which began last year with only teams within Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun and Oke-Ero Federal Constituency will feature all 7 Local Government Areas in Kwara South, this time around.
Adekeye also maintained that the competition is scheduled to take place from June 1st to June 8.
“This year’s competition promises to be more electrifying, with talented young players from across the senatorial district set to showcase their skills and compete for honors.
“The Asoju Oba Football Competition has become a flagship event in Kwara South, promoting youth development, unity, and healthy competition in the region.
“Rt. Hon. Ajuloopin’s initiative has been widely praised for providing a platform for young athletes to shine and for fostering community spirit” Adekeye said.
He said the tournament is expected to attract large crowds, and football fans are eagerly anticipating the thrilling matches.
Adekeye explained that the competition will also provide a platform for emerging talents to be discovered and nurtured.
Adekeye thanked the tournament’s partners, including Hairsense Beauty Salon and MTN for their support to the office of the lawmaker.
