The Vice Chairman of the Kwara State Football Association, Bashorun Kayode Bankole, is set to be honoured with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Olu-Omo of Ekan Kingdom.
He is also the Chairman of the Kwara State Volleyball Association.
The conferment ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 4, 2026, during the much-anticipated Ekan Day 2026 celebration.
According to a letter of invitation made available to journalists in Ilorin, Bashorun Bankole’s wife, Mrs. Olabisi Bankole, will also be honoured with the title of Yeye Olu-Omo.
The colourful event will be held at the United Anglican Primary School, Ekan Meje open field, with proceedings expected to commence at 11:00 am.
Well-wishers and guests are expected to grace the occasion in the official colour code of wine, green, and white, adding glamour to the celebration.
The conferment of the Olu-Omo title on Bashorun Kayode Bankole is a recognition of his immense contributions to Ekan Kingdom, as well as his unwavering commitment to the growth and development of his immediate community.
