Kwara United today Sunday May 9th, 2026, defeated Enyimba 2-0 in the Matchday 37 fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) played at the iconic Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.
A quick brace from Babatunde Bright in the 4th and 29th minutes ensured a deserved victory for the Harmony Boys.
Kwara United had further opportunities to extend the lead, with Junior Aimufua coming close on several occasions, while Enyimba piled pressure towards the end of the first half.
In the second half, Enyimba came out strongly in search of a consolation goal, but the Harmony Boys’ backline stood firm, with goalkeeper Suraj Ayeleso producing crucial saves to deny the visitors.
Akanni Akeem, Babatunde Bright and Suraj Ayeleso were the cynosure of all eyes as their impressive performances earned applause from spectators at the stadium.
Speaking after the game, Coach Ashifat Suleiman hailed the resilience and determination of his players, describing the victory as well deserved.
He added that the team would approach their final league match against Bayelsa United in Yenagoa on the 24th of this month with the same mentality.
Kwara United have now moved up to 11th position on the NPFL table with 47 points from 37 matches and will face already relegated Bayelsa United in their final game of the season.
