DOS congratulates Mrs. AbdulRazaq, Mrs. Monisola on NBSA election victory

The Director, Kwara State Sports Council, Coach Ibrahim Alarape Atanda has congratulated the wife of the Governor, Mrs. Olufolake AbdulRazaq for her emergence as the 2nd Vice President of the Nigeria Baseball and Softball Association (NBSA).

He equally congratulated Mrs. Yemisi Monisola Makanjuola for also winning a seat on the newly elected board, as the 3rd Vice President.

The new Executive members of the NBSA emerged last Saturday, after election in Abuja, with the wife of Kwara Governor; Mrs. Olufolake AbdulRazaq and Mrs Yemisi Monisola Makanjuola emerging as board members.

In the new team are Dr. William Boyd as President, Alhaji Sani O (1st Vice President), Mr Laniyan Kehinde (Secretary General), Barrister Maurice Mogaji (Assistant Secretary General), Mrs Victoria Sodipo (Treasurer), Mr Robert Onwukwe (PRO) and Mr Ayodele Gideon as Assistant PRO.

Describing their emergencie as a new dawn in the sport in Kwara state and Nigeria, Coach Alarape charged baseball and softball family to take advantage of the opportunity to further boost the growth of the twin game in the state.

He also charged them to leverage on Kwara government’s support for sports development, adding that the support was also evidenced in the renovation and modernization of the Baseball Park in Adewole.

Mrs. Olufolake has been in the forefront of the development of the sport in the state, as the President and Matron of Nigeria District 03, Little League Baseball and Softball, North Central Nigeria.

Mrs. Makanjuola is the Founder of MoniMak Global Foundation, and Proprietor of Progressive Baseball and Softball Club.

She was former Captain of Nigeria Softball team, and former Team Manager of Nigeria National Softball team, and a philanthropist.

While praying for a successful tenure for the duo, Coach Alarape urged them to use their position to bring baseball and softball stakeholders in the state together under one umbrella, and to discover and groom more young players in the sport.

He pledges the Council’s support to the national officers, and to the uplift of the sport in the state.
