The 5th edition of Dr. Chukwudi Ogbolu U-12 Boys Kids Cup (CKC) will kick-off in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital on the 4th of December, 2024.

The tournament, which is geared towards discovery and nurturing of young talents at the grassroots is being sponsored by Dr. Chukwudi Ogbolu, a Medical Practitioner, philanthropist and a lover of kiddies football.

The motto of this year’s edition is, ‘enriching the sporting and academic life of the Nigerian kid’.

Twenty four (24) highly reputable grassroots Kiddies’ Academies have indicated interest to participate in this year’s competition, and the Most Valuable Player (MVP) will be awarded one year academic scholarship.

The Organizer of the tournament, LaLiga trained Coach Soni Ahamioje said it is a unique avenue to hunt and nurture young talents from the age of 8 to 12 years.

“It is a novel tournament as the registration for the tournament is free, and all participating teams will get appearance fee.

According to him, ‘it is going to be total football coupled with entertainment, skills, color and glamor”.

At the end of the competition, the best players will be sponsored to partake in the screening of U-13 Boys for YSFON national competitions, as well as the LaLiga U-12 Promises.

He also promised to organize a hitch-free tournament that will be worthy of emulation.

While thanking the sponsor of the competition, Coach Ahamioje called on the well to do in the society to emulate the philanthropic spirit of Dr. Chukwudi Ogbolu, and assist the children and youths in both their sporting and academic programmes.
