Encho set to take ABS FC back to Premier League

Relishing the triumph of the team as the Champions of the Ogunjobi Gold Pre-season tournament, the Technical Adviser of ABS Ilorin FC , Tony Encho has reaffirmed the quest of the club to gain NPFL promotion ticket.

The Cameroonian, who described ABS FC as a “fantastic club” said he has found a new home in the club, given his desire of help young talents achieve their dreams.

Encho, who last worked with Barcelona FC Academy in Lagos revealed that he wasn’t surprised at his club’s feat at the Ogunjobi Gold Cup, adding that their performance stemmed out of a combined efforts of the Management, Technical and the players.

The gaffer, during a courtesy visit to the Sportspro News office alongside ABS FC U-15 Coach, Niran Adeoye explained part of what helped the team in the tournament is their confidence with the strategic role of its defence and cutting edge.

“We didn’t perform well in the competition (AMAPRO Championship) that preceded Gold Cup, so it was an opportunity to see the player and know what is needed to be done”

Describing Kwara state as a peaceful abode, he explained that the team is now ready to prosecute the new season with some technical adjustment being done.

“We have also conducted a screening to get new players in the bid to block some leakages in the team as we prepare for new season”, he concluded.

The NNL new season is scheduled to commence on January 16th, 2021 and ABS Ilorin FC are grouped alongside other 11 clubs in the group A1 of NNL Northern Conference.

While they will be missing the services of their midfield maestro, Samuel Oyedeji and dare- devil striker, David Okoromi, the coach believes the team will not lose it’s competitive edge.

Oyedeji, after putting up an impressive performance in the final of Ogunjobi Cup, has now joined Gombe United, while Okoromi teamed up with Niger Tornadoes of Minna.
