The leadership of the Federal Information Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists has pledged their readiness to support the forthcoming 2021 SWAN Media Games, holding at the Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin between 6th to 9th October, 2021.
Equally, Kwara State National Orientation Agency promised to participate in all the events in the Games.
The Director of the Federal Information, Mrs Folashade Boriowo dropped the hint on Monday when the Committee for the Games, led by the Chairman, Mallam Bola Mogaji led other members on a visit to the federation.
Mrs Folashade, who was represented by the former national officer of NAWOJ, Hajia Bilikis Oladimeji said Federal Information will not only support the Games, but also participate and will laurels.
Hajia Oladimeji, who cannot hide her feelings, commended SWAN for extending invitation to her federation.
He urged SWAN leadership in the state to reactivate and coordinate monthly jogging exercise for journalists and media workers, to enhance healthy living.
Also speaking, the State Director of NOA, Mr Segun Adeyemi saluted the zeal of SWAN leadership and promised total support and effective participation in the Games.
Mr Adeyemi, who used the interface with SWAN to highlights Government’s Enterprise and Empowerment Programmes for the women, farmers and youth, which includes farmer money, Trader money, farmer money and marketing money, said the effort is geared towards empowering youths to be self reliance and reduce untold hardship in the society.
Earlier, the Chairman, who was represented by the Chairman of SWAN, Jimoh Bashir said this year’s Media Games is unique, considering the fact that the Games to be competed for will be outdoor and indoor to accommodate elderly participants.
He seeks for the support of the Chapels to guarantee hitch-free Games in October.
