The much-anticipated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (AA) All Stars Veteran Unity Cup is set to begin tomorrow Saturday, July 4, 2026, with four veteran football teams battling for supremacy in a competition designed to promote unity, friendship, healthy living, and sportsmanship among former footballers and stakeholders in Kwara State.
Organised under the banner of the Kwara State All Stars Football Family, the championship is named in honour of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, whose administration has continued to demonstrate remarkable commitment to sports development, youth empowerment, and the revitalisation of sporting activities across the state.
The tournament will feature four teams, Afase, Ramsaky, MD, and Fullmoon, competing in a two-round league format spread across July and August.
Each side will play the others twice, with the team accumulating the highest number of points at the end of the competition emerging champions.
Action begins on July 4, with Afase taking on Ramsaky in the opening fixture scheduled for 7:15 am., while MD will square up against Fullmoon at 8:30 am. on the same day.
The second round of fixtures in July will see Ramsaky confront MD on July 11, before Fullmoon faces Afase later that morning. The first-round matches will conclude on July 18, with Fullmoon battling Ramsaky, while Afase takes on MD.
Following a short break, the competition resumes for the second round on August 15, where MD will face Afase before Ramsaky locks horns with Fullmoon. The reverse fixtures are expected to provide teams with opportunities to avenge earlier defeats and improve their standings.
The penultimate matchday on August 22 promises another thrilling encounter as MD meets Ramsaky, while Afase and Fullmoon renew their rivalry in what could prove decisive in the title race.
The final round of matches comes up on August 29, with Fullmoon taking on MD at 7:15 am., before Ramsakyand Afase bring the curtain down on the championship at 8:30 am.
