Football fans in Oyun Local Government Area and it’s environs are in for a thrilling showdown, as Ilemona will square up against Irra in the final of the ‘Amba For All’ 2025 Ileya Football Tournament final.

The final is scheduled to hold tomorrow Monday June 9th, 2025, at St. Peter Primary School Field, Irra, beginning from 3:00pm.

The grassroots football championship, sponsored by the General Manager of Kwara United, Mallam Bashir Badawiy, is held in honour of Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki, a revered son of the soil and champion of youth empowerment.

This year’s edition featured four teams, which are Ilemona, Irra, Offa, and Erin-Ile, with Irra edging past Erin-Ile and Ilemona defeating Offa to secure their spots in the final.

Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated final, Mallam Badawiy assured the public that adequate logistics and security arrangements have been put in place to ensure a hitch-free and memorable event.

“This tournament goes beyond football. It is about promoting peace, unity, and community development through sports.

“We invite all sons and daughters of the region to come out en masse and support this celebration of talent and togetherness,” he added.

The final promises to be a colourful event that celebrates not only football excellence, but also communal harmony and youth development in Kwara South.
