Kumbi clarifies Kwara United transfer situation, as Dogo clears air on alleged interference

The Chairman of Kwara United Football Club, Kumbi Titiloye has provided additional insights on the 22 players who were recently released from the club, emphasizing that their departures occurred under varying circumstances.

“The process of transfers and player acquisitions at the commencement and conclusion of seasons can be rather intricate. Players depart for a multitude of reasons; some due to more enticing opportunities overseas, others because they were deemed surplus to requirements, while a few left through mutual agreement,”Titiloye clarfied.

He also expressed the club’s ambition to secure a top position in the league in order to embark on a continental campaign.

“We are no longer content with being underestimated. Contrary to popular belief, Kwara United stands as one of the top five clubs in the nation,”he asserted.

Furthermore, the Chairman enjoined the club’s supporters to be patient throughout the recruitment process, acknowledging the anxieties often associated with the transfer window.

“We all share a deep affection for this club and aspire to see it flourish, hence, I humbly beseech the fans of Kwara United to display understanding and forbearance towards us,”Titiloye concluded.

Meanwhile, the Head Coach of Kwara United Football Club, Kabir Dogo has once again, emphasized his complete autonomy in managing the club as a Technical Advisor, highlighting the player recruitment process for the upcoming 2024/25 NPFL season.

Coach Dogo made th assertions during an interaction with sports journalists following a pivotal meeting with the club’s management today Thursday July 18, 2024, at the club’s Secretariat in Ilorin.

The team’s strategist elucidated that the management has granted the technical staff full authority to select high-caliber players going forward.

“We have been instructed to maintain transparency in the player selection process and foster unity within the technical department to ensure our objective of securing a top three finish,”he articulated.

Coach Dogo pledged to the ardent football enthusiasts of Kwara to meticulously select top-tier players and solicited their unwavering support in achieving the established goal of clinching the league title.

Furthermore, he reaffirmed that the club, affectionately known as the Harmony Boys, is a formidable force and a stalwart in the nation’s Premier League.

The coach also expressed his appreciation to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his steadfast backing of the club.

In conclusion, the Harmony Boys’ tactician talked on the rationale behind appointing Musa AbdulAfeez Olororo as the team’s Captain.

“This decision aims to instill a sense of unity and collective purpose among the players,”Coach Dogo elucidated.
