The Kwara State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa Joshua has pledged deeper, effective and smooth relationship with Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club, Ilorin.
Mr. Onifade made the pledge today, Wednesday November 13, 2024, when the management of Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club (ABS FC) paid a courtesy visit to the Secretariat of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), in Ilorin
Led by the Coordinator of the team, Jimoh Bashir, the ABS FC delegation included Mrs. Funmilayo Owolabi (Administrative Secretary), Mr. Wahab Ayinde (Welfare Officer), and Tosh Michaels (Head of Media).
Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa Joshua warmly welcomed the ABS FC management, reiterating his commitment to partnering with the club. He emphasized NYSC primary objective:
“Our mission is to promote and develop in our youths, an attitude of mind acquired through shared experience and suitable training, making them more amenable to mobilization in the national interest.”
“To instill self-reliance and economic empowerment in Nigerian youth, to foster effective participation in nation-building, and to equip youths with skills and confidence to excel globally”, he added.
Mr. Onifade noted that football and sports are essential tools for developing skills and achieving success. He encouraged ABS FC to leverage NYSC’s resources, citing the large number of corps members available for collaboration.
“We produce six batches of corps members annually. We’re eager to support your initiatives, especially in areas of specialization.”
ABS FC Coordinator, Jimoh Bashir thanked Mr. Onifade for the warm reception and reaffirmed the club’s commitment to its nearly twenty-year partnership with NYSC.
“We value our long-standing relationship and look forward to continued collaboration,” Bashir said.
