Gov AdulRazaq, Deputy, Speaker, Emir, Seriki tops guests’ list as Kwara United launches jersey

Top government functionaries, businessmen, State and National Assembly members, traditional rulers and football stakeholders both within and outside the state are expected at the Main-Bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex Thursday, from 10.00am, as NPFL league leaders, Kwara United FC unveils their partnership with Umbro, and also launches their kits.

Briefing newsmen at the Conference Room of the Secretariat of the Kwara State Football Association yesterday, the Chairman of the 14-man Launching Committee, Pharmacist Lanre Alege said the management of Kwara United entered a deal with Umbro which is worth N21m in 2019, adjudged the costliest in club kit deal in the country so far.

According to Pharmacist Alege, the three-year deal, which is subject to review, gave the club three sets of jerseys, fez caps, travelling kits, training bibs, bags and other items worth N13m, after the purchase of replicas worth N6.7m.

Pharmacist Alege added that the launching was also organized to raise money for the club.

He said that the present Kwara United FC board, led by Clement Kumbi Titiloye inherited the deal from the former management, led by Prince Oladimeji Ladi Thompson.

The Chief Executive Officer of Kazolinks International Limited, Mallam Tunde Kazeem, who is partnering the club on the project as a Consultant commended the state government for supporting the club and the project, pointing out that his outfit had helped in reaching out to people to support the cause of the club.

He assured of accountability and transparency, even as he said that government alone cannot shoulder the responsibility of keeping the club afloat.

He commended the club for its impressive run in the ongoing NPFL league season.

Kwara state Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, his Deputy, Mr Kayode Alabi, the Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Salihu Yakubu Danmladi, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari and Ambassador Yahaya Seriki are among the top dignitaries expected to grace the launching ceremony which will be chaired by Mr Kale Belgore.

Ambassador Yahaya Seriki will be the Chief Launcer.

others expected are the SA Sports, Mallam Attahiru Ibrahim, Hajia Muinat Shagaya, Supporters and Fans of the club, lovers of the club at home and abroad, former players, who have been identified as Ambassadors, including Seyi Olofinjana and Bolaji Douglas, and others.
