The Kwara state chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has commended Offa Volleyball Club, for emerging champions of the 2022 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League in the men category.
Offa Volleyball Club and Nigeria Customs Service have emerged champions of the 2022 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League in the men and women category respectively, on Sunday.
Offa Volleyball Club beat Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) 3-2 (25-16, 23-25, 25-17,17-25, 15-11) in a keenly contested men’s match, to win their match on the final day of the league played at the indoor sports hall of Ondo State Sports Council in Akure.
And in a message by Kwara SWAN, signed by its Secretary, Olayinka Owolewa, the body said that Offa has again, demonstrated that it’s the home of volleyball with the feat.
SWAN equally praised the efforts of the Coach, Suleiman Ajeigbe, whom they described as a dogged fighter ad goal getter.
SWAN appreciated Kwara State Governor, Malam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for providing the right atmosphere for sports development, even as they urged him to host and honour the glorious team, to further encourage them.
Apart from winning the trophy, four of the platers of the team also won individual honours.
They include Suleiman Ismail (Best Setter), Taiwo Badmus (Best Server), Tiamiyu Ismail (Best Libero), while AbdulQuadri Jaiyeola was picked as the Most Valuable Players in the League.
