Kwara United pledges support for newly established United Queens FC

Kwara United Football Club has reaffirmed its readiness to support the newly established female football team in the state, Kwara United Queens.

The Club Chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, stated this today, Wednesday October 7, 2026, when he received the players and officials of Kwara United Queens, led by its Chairman, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Owolabi Wopa, in his office.

Titiloye expressed delight over the visit, noting that the establishment of a female team is also part of the licensing requirements for clubs participating in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

He assured the Queens of the club’s support, promising to provide them with playing kits of the same quality as those used by the men’s team.

The Kwara United Chairman also directed the club’s secretary to make available ₦750,000 monthly to Kwara United Queens to assist in meeting some of their operational needs.

Earlier, the Chairman of Kwara United Queens, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Owolabi Wopa, said the visit should ideally have taken place before the team’s participation in the playoffs.

He described Kwara United as the “father” of the newly established Queens, particularly in terms of experience and exposure, stressing that the women’s team intends to follow the footsteps of the men’s side by making the state proud.

According to him, achieving that ambition would require the support of Kwara United and other stakeholders, hence the decision to seek the club’s backing.

The visit featured the exchange and presentation of club jerseys between the two Chairmen, symbolising the partnership and support between Kwara United FC and Kwara United Queens.
