The Sports Hall of Fame was established to celebrate Nigerian sports legends and icons with outstanding records of success in their various careers. It also honours individuals who have contributed to sports development in the country through philanthropism.
Prior to the tour, the Hon. Minister called for a comprehensive briefing to ascertain if the vision of the Hall of Fame is expansive enough to cover the sports legacies of Nigeria and Nigerians.

The Sports Hall of Fame was established in 2019 by the African Image Ventures in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.

It also captures Nigeria’s participation in all international tournaments.
