Mogaji, Oladimeji, Bako, Aremu pledge support for Kwara SWAN

Sports stakeholders have pledged their renew commitments to support the growth and development of Kwara SWAN in all it’s programmes and activities.

The stakeholders made the pledge during the official visit by Kwara SWAN executives to their various offices on Monday.

The Executive Chairman of Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Mogaji promised to work with the new leadership in reigniting the relationship between the commission and body

Mallam Mogaji said for proper dissemination of information, members of SWAN will be brought on board in the various sports associations.

He said, “The commission needs the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) to showcase the huge investment of the present administration in sports. There are so many areas the commission can partner with SWAN and I believe the new executives have the capacity to deliver.

“The commission is ready to partner with SWAN and ensure our sour relationship is ended. Members of SWAN will be appointed into the Kwara State Sports Association in order for proper dissemination of information and I want to notify you that the formal Inauguration of board members in various sports associations will be done before the elections”, he said.

The patron of Kwara State Chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Prince Thompson Oladimeji lauded the executives for its effort in rebranding the association.

Oladimeji who doubles as the Kwara State Pillar of Sports promised to support the programs of the new executives advising them to liaise with the commission in promoting the giant strides of the present administration.

Oladimeji said, “I am happy the new leadership of Kwara SWAN recognises my contribution to the association. I can see the efforts from the new leadership in rebranding the association and I want to assure you that you can count on my support”.

The Administrator of Kwara Football Academy, Alhaji Ibrahim Bako and General Manager of Kwara State Broadcasting Corporation, Kayode Aremu tasked the new executive to focus on the training and retraining of her members.

They promised to partner with Kwara SWAN whenever the need rises, adding that the State Government has repositioned sports in the last three and a half years.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Kwara SWAN, Ayodeji Ismail commended stakeholders for their love and affection shown to the association since inception.

He emphasised that the association is concerned about the welfare of the association, completion of the secretariat of SWAN and retraining of her members.
