Nigeria Pillar of Sports promises robust partnership with Kwara SWAN


The Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike JP has promised to robustly support the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Kwara State chapter.

The promise was made today Thursday, February 9th, 2023, when the new leadership of the Association, led by the new Chairman, Mr. Ayodeji Ismail, alongside other members of the new executive committee paid the sports philanthropist a courtesy visit at his office in Ilorin.

The Nnewi-born business mogul reiterated his unflinching commitment towards sports development, and that he sees SWAN, at every level as an ideal partner-in-progress.

In his own remark, the Chairman, office of the Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Prince Ajide Olayioye admonished the new leadership of SWAN not to get distracted by petty politics, capable of detailing their focus on the divine task of setting developmental agenda for sports in the state.

During the visit, Prince Olayioye presented the SWAN team with the congratulatory letter to the Chairman, on behalf of Chief Agu-Ejidike, who doubles as the Chairman, Board of Trustees Office of the Nigeria Pillar of Sports.

The SWAN Chairman in his remark acknowledged the immense contributions of Chief Agu-Ejidike across the country, and Kwara State especially, saying that his administration would always be willing to collaborate with the Office of Nigeria Pillar of Sports, for the development of Sports in Kwara State.

SWAN also promises to always escalate any news-worthy activity of the Office of the Nigeria Pillar of Sports, going forward, saying that, it is the least the association could do to demonstrate its willingness to partner with the office, towards the advancement of sports development, in Nigeria, especially, at the grassroots.

Present at the event were other members of the Office of the Nigeria Pillar of Sports, which include; Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, who is the General-Secretary, Club Owners Association of Nigeria, and the Director of football, ABS Ilorin FC; Mr. Igiri Joseph, the Chairman, Igbo Traders Football Association Kwara State; Mr. Adebayo Abubakar, a sports journalist, among others.

Meanwhile, in the entourage of the SWAN Chairman were, Mr. Toyin Saheed (Vice Chairman), Mr. Nicholas Uwerunonye (Treasurer) Mallam Mustapha Abubakar (Ex-officio), Mr. Sadiq Adebara (Assistant General-Secretary), and Mr. Dele Obaseesin (Welfare officer).
