States gear up for 40th YSFON/Ramat Cup U16 International in Nasarawa state

Stage is getting set for the 40th edition of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) organised Ramat Cup International, scheduled for Lafia City Stadium, Nasarawa state, between Friday August 8th to Saturday August 16th, 2025.

The Ramat Cup International is a youth soccer tournament being held in honor of the late General Murtala Ramat Mohammed. YSFON, founded in 1965, has been a key organization in promoting youth sports in Nigeria.

The Ramat Cup, which is one of the notable initiatives of YSFON is a significant event for young footballers in Nigeria.

Virtually all the states of the Federation are expected to participate in this year’s edition, with arrival slated for Friday, 8th August, 2025, while screening of players shall take place from 7.00am on Saturday, August 9th, 2025, at the Lafia City Stadium.

Each participating state shall present twenty (20) players, who must be sixteen (16) years of age, and three (3) officials.

Ramat Cup has been instrumental in developing young athletes and providing them with opportunities to showcase their talents.

YSFON has continued to use the platform and others, to inspire the youths through sports, especially football, highlighting the long-standing impact of their programmes.

While describing the competition as a unity forum for Nigeria youths, YSFON thanked Nasarawa Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Sule, for providing the necessary resources and conducive environment for the competition to hold in the State.

The last edition held in Kano state in 2022, with Ń-Youth Sports of Abuja emerging as champions.
