SWAN congratulates Governor Abdulrahman, tasks him ahead fresh mandate

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara State chapter has tasked Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Governor of Kwara State, on the need to see his re-election as a reward for excellent performance in all sectors, most especially in sports, in the last four years, while also looking ahead to consolidate on the gains made so far.

The body observed in a congratulatory message signed by its Chairman, Ayodeji Ismail, and Secretary, Dare Kuti respectively, stating that the will of the average sports-loving Kwaran was demonstrated by voting for the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the polls last Saturday.

The statement further added that the re-election of Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq will bring more development to sports in the state.

“During Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s first tenure, sports in Kwara state witnessed unprecedented development within the shortest period from hosting the State Sports Festival to revamping the swimming pool as well as the construction of a World Class Squash Court.

“Kwara United returned to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), finishing fourth positions in the 2021 and 2022 seasons respectively.

“Kwara SWAN believes your return will further complement the gains of sports on the ground”, the statement read.

SWAN urged Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to build stadia in the three Senatorial districts of the state.

Also, Kwara SWAN congratulated the elected Senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly members, enjoining them to give maximum support to the Governor.
