Kwara United congratulate Gov AbdulRasaq, others on election victories

Kwara United Football Club has congratulated the Executive Governor of the state, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on his victory at the polls on Saturday March 18, 2023.

Governor Abdulrazaq won in all the 16 Local Governments Areas of the state, having defeated his major contenders, Shuaib Yaman Abdullahi of the PDP, Hakeem Lawal of the SDP and Professor Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem of the NNPP.

The result, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) showed that Governor AbdulRazaq of the APC polled 273, 424, Shuaib Yaman Abdullahi of the PDP polled 155, 490, while the duo of Hakeem Lawal of the SDP and Professor Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem of the NNPP got 18,922 and 4,398 respectively.

In a release by the Club’s Media Team, the General Manager of the club, Bashir Badawiy attributed the victory to the wonderful performance of the Governor, “having touched virtually all the Wards in the 16 Local Government Areas of the state”, he averred.

“The Governor is also a great blessing to sports and youth development in the state, not only in the the area of renovation and building of infrastructure, but also in the area of encouragement of sports participation, welfare and motivation.

“Just like it’s being witnessed in sports generally in the state, Kwara United Football Club is benefitting immensely from his magnanimity, and that’s why he is our undisputable “Number One Supporter”, Badawiy said.

According to Badawiy, on behalf of our Board Chairman Kumbi Titiloye we say a big congratulations to our amiable Governor, we congratulated the three Senators-elect, Mallam Saliu Mustapha (Kwara Central), Senator Sadiq Umar (Kwara North) and Senator Oye Lola Ashiru (Kwara South); and Alhaji Ahmed Yinka Aluko, Mallam Mukhtar Tolani Shagaya and other House of Representative Members-elect in the state on their emergence.

The club also congratulated all the State House of Assembly Members-elect, even as they reminded them to invest in youth and sports development.

He charge all those elected into one position or the other to ensure that their promises to the electorates are fulfilled, reminding them that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq had it relatively easy because he fulfilled his promises to Kwarans in his first tenure of office.
