Following a report of assault and display of hooliganism leveled against Dohz FA and La Planet FC in their Matchday 5 of the NLO at Ilorin centre, the league organising body has sanctioned and fined the two clubs.
The NLO Secretariat has.equally awarded the abandoned match to La Planet FC.
In the letters to the two clubs, and signed by the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the NLO, Olushola Ogunnowo, through the Secretariat of the Kwara State Football Association, the NLO also fined Dohz FC N200,000 for two different offences.
“The NLO Secretariat received a disturbing report on how Dohz FA officials and supporters assaulted the match officials in the match played in Ilorin on the 4th May 2025, between La’Planet FC and DOHZ FA ilorin.
“La’Planet officials harassed the match officials and NLO Official. Video evidence showed clearely how Mr Abdulmalik Olasunkanmi persistently harassed the officials.
“Sequel to the above, the NLO Secretariat and the rules guiding the league frowned at such unsportsmanlike behaviour, hence the application of the rules and regulations as stated in article 4.07 (1-4) on intimidation and harassment of match officials before, during and after matches.
“The match shall be awarded to La’Planet FC with 3 points and 3 goals, while Mr Tunde Sanni of Dohz FA is hereby suspended indefinitely from all NLO events, while his appearance in any of Dohz FA football matches shall be met with severe sanction.
“Dohz FA to pay a fine of N100,000 to NLO account before their next league match, failure to comply may cause the team to lose the match.
“Dohz FA to pay the sum of N100,000.00 to Kwara State Referee Council for the medical treatment of injured match officials and replacement of torn referee uniforms before their next match.
“Mr Abdulmalik Olasukanmi of La’planet FC, is hereby suspended indefinitely from all NLO events, his appearance in any of La Planet FC football matches shall be met with severe sanction.
“Mr Moshood Olalekan’s red card sanction shall be extended to 3 match ban, while La ‘Planet FC to pay a fine of N100,000 to NLO account before their next league match, failure to comply may cause the team to lose the match.
The NLO Secretariat stared further that the decisions shall be submitted to the NFF Disciplinary committee for further sanction.
