Kwara United Football Club have lined up two friendly engagements ahead of the crucial First Leg, First Round match of the 2022/2023 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup competition against Renaissance Sportive de Berkane, commonly referred to as RS Berkane of Morocco on October 9th, in Lagos.
Kwara United Football Club eliminated AS Douanes of Niger Republic in the Preliminary Rounds on Three goals aggregate, to face the Moroccan side, who are the Cup holders and Champion of Champions.
According to the General Manager of the Club, Bashir Badawiy, Kwara United will file out against Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, Oyo State on Saturday October 1st, 2022.
The team will also play Remo Stars at the Ikenne Township Stadium, Ikenne, on Sunday October 2nd, 2022, from where the team is expected to jet into Lagos, to continue preparations for the match against RS Berkane.
The club, through its Chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, commended the state Governor, Malam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his support to the team. They also commended the Kwara State Sports Commission, the State Football Association and other stakeholders for their support. He pledged that the ream will qualify for the Group Stage of the competition, to justify the huge investment of the state on the team.
After the first leg in Lagos, RS Berkane will host Kwara United in the return leg on October 15th, 2022, at the Stade Municipal de Berkane, which has a capacity of 10,000 spectators.
