Dr. Musah delighted over appointment as Chairman, Women/Grassroots Development Committee of Cycling Federation

Dr. Musah delighted over appointment as Chairman, Women/Grassroots Development Committee of Cycling Federation newly appointed Chairman of Women and Grassroots Development Committee of the Cycling Federation of Nigeria (CFN), Dr. Khadija Toyin Musah has expressed the resolve to contribute her quota to the development of cycling in Nigeria.

Dr. Musah, who also doubles as a Board Member of the federation will be overseeing a committee central to the development of cycling in view of the critical and strategic nature of women engagement and grassroots development.

A total number of nine Sub- Committees has been created by the newly inaugurated board of the CFN, to champion various programmes that will open a new vista for the sport in Nigeria.

Apart from her appointment as Chairman, she was also appointed Vice Chairman of the  Media and Publicity Committee and member of Marketing/Sponsorship, Planning and Medical/Anti-doping Committees.

“It’s not a one-man job but a collective task. I want to assure all the stakeholders that we shall bring more commitment, direction, workable plans, an aggressive marketing and sponsorship coupled with more participation at all levels to the table in the course of our duty”, Dr. Musah told newsmen in Ilorin over the weekend.

The medical practitioner, who is also the Director of Wellness and Art Therapy of the Kwara State University (KWASU), believes that with good advice and constructive criticism, the fortunes of cycling in the country is going to change for good. 

“We are going to reach out to the unreached, add values to the existing ones and enhance youth productivity and women empowerment through cycling”, she concluded.

The Sub-Committees created by the federation includes Technical; Security/Disciplinary; Media/Publicity; Grassroots/Women Development; Marketing/Sponsorship; Medical/ Anti-Doping; Road; Track and Planning Committees.
