Kwara United FC to play Niger Tornadoes in friendly matches

Kwara United Football Club will step up their preparations ahead of the commencement of the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) League season with friendly ties, both in Ilorin and in Minna.

Confirming the arrangements to the Media Team of Kwara United FC, the General Manager of the Club, Bashir Badawiy said that the first match will come up in Ilorin on Sunday November 14th.

The return leg will come up at the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna on Wednesday November 17th, with the two teams having the opportunity to test their new players further, before the season kicks off.

Kwara United FC participate and won the third Governor Dapo Abiodun Pre-Season tournament in Ijebu-Ode last month, while the newly promoted Minna side, Niger Tornadoes also continues their preparatory journey ahead of their campaign in the NPFL with series of Pre-Season tournaments and friendly matches.

The Grade A friendly matches are also arranged to have the fans and supporters of both teams have the opportunity to see their teams before the commencement of the season.

After many years in the Nigeria National League (NNL), Niger Tornadoes, under Coach Bala Abubakar got promoted to the NPFL after last season’s NNL, and even emerged as the best NNL team of the season, beating Shooting Stars Sports Club in the final of the Super Eight.

Kwara United FC ended the season third on the 2020/2021 NPFL final table, and Badawiy said that the team will build positively on the successes achieved last season, hence, the preparations needs to be solid.
