The Executive Chairman, Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bola Mogaji yesterday, Sunday November 17, 2024, received the victorious Kwara State Squash team who just returned from this year’s edition of the Ex-Pro Diaspora Junior Squash Championship in Lagos.
He commended the team for their efforts as they surpassed the previous year’s record in the championship, by winning 12 medals which comprises three gold, three silver and six bronze medals.
Addressing the team, Mogaji noted that the achievement went further to show that Kwara state is the home of squash in the country.
He assured that he will personally host the team when he returns from a journey next week.
The Director of Sports, Mallam Ibrahim Bako on behalf of the Kwara state government and the Commission congratulated the team for their feat and urged them to keep up the winning spirit.
He said with this achievement the state is sure to sweep medals at coming National Youth Games next year
Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman has expressed appreciation to Mr and Mrs Segun Ogunjimi who donated eight rackets to Squash team as a way of paying back to Kwara, where he developed as a Squash player.
