Gidado FC wins Bibire Football tournament

Gidado Football Club of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, has won the final competition of Bibire Football Tournament, 2020, after defeating Olansile FA with 3-0.

The final, which took place at OAU Stadium complex, Osun State, was well attended by football enthusiasts from across the country.

Bibire Football Competition was organised by some football enthusiasts in Ile-Ife, Osun state.

The Chairman of Bibire Football Competition, Tosin Onibudo, said the competition was organised to mark the end of popular pandemic “Covid-19” and a new beginning for some selected nationwide league 1 team.

Onibudo, who is also the Founder of Choice International FC, said the competition was aimed to scout some good players for playing contract in Europe and also a replica of pre- season tournament compare to what we use to have among Elite club at NPFL.

The co-host of the tournament, Akeju Titus Babatunde (Obagesports), explained that the competition was first edition and it comprises eight teams from three South Western State and one North Central States namely Osun, Ekiti, Oyo and Kwara.

These four states presented eight team,  namely,  Choice FC,  Knight FC,  Olansile FA, Timi Giant FC,  New Star FC,  All Academy FA,  Future Star FC and Abiola babe FC, 

The eight teams was spilted into two groups and the fixture was done respectively.

The competition started on 6th of December, 2020 with the fixture between Olansile and Future star FC.

The Chairman of Gidado Football Club, Alhaji Babatunde Afase Solihu appreciated the team for doing the state proud.

He attributed the success to the commitment of the players and adequate preparation for the tournament.

Afase Solihu appreciated the players, technical crew and the management staff for doggedness attitude in the competition and for doing the state so proud as well.
