The Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello today unveiled Coach Folabi Ojekunle as the New Technical Adviser of Kogi United Football Club of Lokoja at the Kogi State Government House, Lokoja.
The unveiling was done during a brief ceremony by the Executive Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, as he urged the new Technical Adviser to surpass records set by past coaches of the club, and make sure Kogi returns to its rightful place as far as football is concerned in Nigeria.
The Governor said he was happy with Coach Folabi Ojekunle’s rich coaching credentials and experience, charging him to bring his wealth of experience to bear on the development and progress of the club.
Chairman of Kogi United Football Club, Hon. Abdulmalik Isah Dolly expressed happiness with the decision to contract a new and experienced gaffer like Coach Folabi Ojekunle, whom he said will definitely change the face of the club.
In an interview with newsmen after the unveiling, the Coach Foley expressed his desire and readiness to make the club a force to reckon with.
He thanked the Governor, the Chief Security Officer the Governor, Alhaji Abdulmalik Suleiman and Chairman of Kogi United Hon. Abdulmalik Isah for the confidence and trust they reposed in him, promising to justify such trust by giving his best to the club.
It would be recalled that Kogi United got relegated to the Nationwide League after the end of last season’s Nigeria National League (NNL).
