There was massive jubilation on Friday, May 29, in Ilemona, as representatives of football teams in the 7 Communities in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State gathered to receive their souvenirs from Nigerian international Wasiu Alalade.

It was a colourful ceremony as soccer teams from Ojoku, Ira, Erin-Ile, Igosun, Ijagbo and Ipee sent their ambassadors to Ilemona, the capital of Oyun Local Government, to receive their sporting equipment donated by the former Kwara United and ABS FC star.

Wasiu Alalade, who hails from Ilemona feels it is time for these Communities in Oyun Local Government to feel his impact most especially the people in his constituency which is sports.

Alalade, who currently plays for Al Kadhimiya in Iraq disclosed that this gesture from him to football teams in Oyun Local Government will be a continuous exercise.

“I am doing this in my Local Government because I want more players to rise to the stardom like Rashidi Yekini, and supporting these teams in my own little way will be of help.

“I will make sure that this will be a continuous program in Oyun Local Government and I also have the ambition to touching all other Local Government Areas in Kwara in the nearest future,” Alalade explained.

Abdulrahman Rabiu, who is the PA to President Tinubu’s ADC was among the dignitaries that attended the program in Ilemona.

Others who graced the event are Hon. Adebayo Soliu, who is the Councilor representing Ilemona, representative of the Commandant of Nigerian Navy College of Health Sciences Offa, Palace Chiefs, Wasiu’s siblings among whom is Alalade Taofeeq.
