Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Kwara United has expressed gratitude to its players, coaches, supporters and stakeholders after successfully retaining its topflight status at the end of the 2025/2026 season.
In a statement issued by the Office of the Chairman, the club described its survival battle as a hard-fought journey achieved through sacrifice, courage and resilience despite the challenges faced throughout the campaign.
The statement praised the players, popularly known as the Harmony Boys, for refusing to give up during difficult moments, including injuries, criticism, pressure and other setbacks that characterised the season.
According to the club, finishing 16th on the NPFL table and escaping relegation by a single goal margin reflected the determination and belief within the squad.
The management also commended the coaching crew for remaining composed during turbulent periods, noting that their leadership, discipline and tactical input played a key role in steering the team away from relegation danger.
Kwara United further apologised to supporters and fans over the disappointing outcome of the final match of the season, admitting that the team fell short of expectations.
The club, however, appreciated the unwavering loyalty and passion shown by supporters throughout the difficult campaign, while assuring them of better performances in the coming season.
“We cannot wait to return to Ilorin next season, to hear the drums again and see the stands alive once more,” the statement added.
Attention has now shifted to the President Federation Cup, as the reigning champions prepare for the Round of 32 in defence of the title they won in 2025.
The Harmony Boys stated that they understand the responsibility that comes with being defending champions and promised to continue fighting for more glory for Kwara State.
In an emotional conclusion, the club dedicated its escape from relegation to victims of insecurity across Kwara State, praying for peace, safety and hope for affected families and communities.
“Together, we endured. Together, we survived. Together, we move forward,” the statement concluded
