Kwara Athletics Association lauds Governor AbdulRazaq on SA Sports

The Kwara State Athletics Association has commended the Executive Governor of Kwara state, Mallam AbdulRahaman AbdulRasaq, on the re-appointment and inauguration of Mallam Attahiru Ibrahim as the Special Adviser on Sports and Youth Development.

In a release signed by the Chairman Kwara State Amateur Athletics Association, Alhaji Tunde Abdulkareem commended the number one citizen of the state for the right choice of a seasoned Administrator who has been tested and trusted over the years. 

Alhaji Abdulkareem charged the new cabinet member to use his wealth of experience in restructuring sports with emphasis on grassroots as basis towards sports development in the state.

Alhaji Abdulkareem, who is also the Chairman of Chairmen of sporting associations in Kwara state urged the Special Adviser to beam his searchlight on track and field, where the state used to dominate at the National Sports Festival and school sports.

Alhaji Abdulkareem opined that if adequate budget is committed to athletics, more talents will be discovered at various Inter-house School Sports competitions in all parts of Kwara state.

Meanwhile, preparations are in top gear by the Kwara State Athletics Association to participate in the AFN/MOC invitational competition next week, Inter-school Athletics final in June and other national events after the Olympics.
