According to him, “we received directive from the NFF to conduct election from the Local Government Football Councils, and the Extral Ordinary Congress of FA swung into action by empowering the already existing Electoral  and Appeals Committees to execute the process.

Mallam Thuraya confirmed that  members were briefed at a meetings on the procedures which must be followed tenaciously, and the Statutes, Electoral Code and Electoral Guidelines were also made available to them to study.

“The disqualified Councils did not meet the requirements and even failed to channel their grievances through the Appeals Committee within the time frame provided.

Some of the procedures which the Councils failed to fulfil includes annual subscription, affiliation fees, Electorates list and filling of the Intent Forms correctly, by way of providing the conditions required.

He commended Barrister A. U. Mustapha for giving back to his community through the project, noting that when the regrassing is finally completed, it will attract national and international football tournaments within and across Africa, thereby improving socio-economic development of the host community and the state at large.
