Kwara para athletes gifted two basketball wheelchairs by NWBF

The Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball Federation (NWBF) has donated two basketball wheelchairs to Kwara State Wheelchair Basketball Association, in an effort to boost the development of the game in the state.

Briefing sportsbash.com.ng on the development, the Vice President and North Central representative of Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball Federation, Oyadinrn Olatunbosun Felix, who facilitated the gesture said that the equipment will be judiciously put into use.

He added that the equipment is worth over N4million.

It would also be recalled that Felix, in February this year, 2024, facilitated the three-day Wheelchair Basketball National Technical Workshop for coaches and officials in Kwara state.

The workshop, staged at the Conference Hall of the Kwara State Sports Commission was in preparation for the commencement of the 2023/2024 season of Wheelchair Basketball.

Felix, who recently concluded his Higher Diploma Coaching course (Table Tennis) at the National Institute for Sports (NIS) commended the state Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for encouraging a friendly atmosphere for youths, especially para athletes, to flourish in sports.

He equally commended the Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball Federation for the gesture, which, according to him, will go a long way in assisting the state to do well in the game.

Felix, who recently raised funds that qualified and ensured participation in Fantastic 4 in Abuja, where they placed third and awarded the Most Consistent and Improve Team added that the existing wheelchairs have also been repaired, theough his efforts.

He explained that some of the achievements were through his personal efforts and sacrifices, including finance, adding that he will continue to sacrifice, to lift the game in the state.
