Kwara State Football Association honours NYSC State Cordinator as ‘Soccer Ambassador’

*Donates medals to winners of Inter Platoon Football tournament

Kwara State Football Association has named the Kwara NYSC State Cordinator, Mr.Onifade Olaoluwa Joshua ‘Soccer Ambassador’ for his commitment to promoting football activities in the state.

The NYSC State Cordinator was presented with a trophy and a commemorative medal by Mallam Jimoh Abdulganiyu, who represented the Kwara FA Chairman at the Inter Platoon Football competition at the Batch A Stream 1 Orientation Course, at the Yikpata Orientation Camp in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Mallam Ganiyu, who is a top member of the Kwara State Refreees Council and also the Team Leader of the Red Cross Society on camp, commended the NYSC State Coordinator for his sponsorship of the Inter Platoon Football competition on camp and, by extension the support given to the NYSC State football team.

He said “The Kwara State Football Association is very delighted and proud of all the support you have given to football development, and we are pleased to confer you with the award of ‘Soccer Ambassador’.

He added “The partnership between the FA and NYSC under your leadership has taken a great leap in view of our shared goal and commitment to developing the game, and we hope that it will continue to grow”

In his response, the NYSC State Cordinator thanked the Kwara FA and noted that the recognition would encourage him to do more.

“I am very happy for the honour done on my by your association. This will spur us to do more in our bid to promote football activities both in and outside the camp,” he said.

Apart from the presentation of trophy to the NYSC State Cordinator as Soccer Ambassador,  the Kwara FA also presented commemorative medals to top officials of the NYSC, including the Camp Director, Mr. Balogun Adetomiwa Ahmed and the Head of Sports, Mr. Bola Ahmed.

The Kwara FA also donated medals to the winners and the runners-up team in the football tournament where Platoon 10 emerged the champions after defeating Platoon Five in a thrilling final match on penalties.

Platoon Two also edged Platoon Four to win the third place match.
