The leadership of the Kwara State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN, has hailed sports stakeholders for their support during the recently concluded Kwara SWAN election in the state.
SWAN revealed that the stakeholders which include; administrators, coaches and athletes are critical to the development of sports.
In a statement signed by the Secretary of the Association, Dare Kuti, said the presence of the Kwara State Governor and other sports bigwigs added credibility to the electoral process.
The statement read, “The newly elected executive wants to appreciate stakeholders who were present and unavoidably absent at the association’s election, held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) conference hall on Monday. The presence of Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq ably represented by the Executive chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Mogaji added credibility and glamour to the election.
“The presence of Chairman, board of Kwara State Television Service, Mallam Hameed Adio OLY, the administrator of the Kwara Football Academy, Alhaji Ibrahim Bako, Chairman of the Kwara Football Association, Idris Musa Abdullah (Thuraya), the Stadium Manager of Kwara State Stadium, Wale Obalola and the Director of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS), Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, shown we are on the part of greatness.
“We also want to appreciate the patron of our great association, Prince Thompson Oladimeji for his fatherly role before, during and after the election as well as other key critical stakeholders.
The leadership of SWAN Kwara State Chapter also commended the sportsmanship spirit displayed by the immediate past Secretary, Olayinka Owolewa who contested for the position of Chairman adding that his vast wealth of experience in the sports industry is still needed to move the association forward.
