Kwara United bounced back to winning ways with a convincing 2-0 victory over Kun Khalifat in their NPFL Matchday 3 clash at the Rashidi Yekini Main-Bowl, George Agbazika Innih Stadium, Ilorin.
New signings Aule Shirsha Johnmark and Kingsley Obiorah were the heroes of the day, finding the back of the net in the 24th and 82nd minutes respectively, to hand the Harmony Boys their first three points of the season.
It was a dominant display from Coach Tunde Sanni’s side, with Johnmark and Victor Adeoye leading the attack and midfield with urgency and flair, while Kabir Mohammed, Ibrahim Yahaya, and Saheed Olaniyi formed a solid backline that kept the visitors at bay.
The coach’s second-half substitutions — Shola Abdulraheem, Gidado Toheeb, Kingsley Obiorah, and Chara — brought fresh energy and played a crucial role in securing the win.
Speaking after the match, Coach Sanni praised his players for sticking to the game plan, describing the fixture as “a good test ahead of our CAF game in two weeks’ time in Ghana.”
Man-of-the-Match honors went to Aule Shirsha Johnmark, whose debut goal and overall performance were rewarded by Cyteck.
With this result, Kwara United climb to 10th place on the NPFL table with 4 points from 3 matches. They will next travel to Warri to face Warri Wolves in Matchday 4 action next weekend.

Meanwhile, Johnmark Aule Shirsha has dedicated his Cyteck Man of the Match award to his teammates, stating that the recognition serves as a great motivation to keep delivering as the league progresses.
