Kwara State Sports Commission and Kwara United Football Club today, Tuesday October 6, 2026, held crucial meeting with football stakeholders on security situations before, during and after home matches of the team, and also taking into consideration, revenue drive.
The meeting, held at the Conference Room of the Kwara Football Academy, Ilorin deliberate extensively on new security measures put in place by the FA and the club, which the stakeholders commended, ticketing, prices of tickets and seating demarkations, numbering and arrangement.
The Executive Chairman of the State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Mogaji, while declaring the meeting open, commended the FA Chairman, Alhaji Idris Abdullahi Musa Thuraya and Kwara United Football Club, for their proactiveness, especially since the season began.
He said that the measures were put in place to achieve both effective decorum before, during and after Kwara United home matches, and also, to increase revenue, which, according to him, has now improved, with the new measures put in place.
Mallam Bola Mogaji equally charged Kwara United Football Club to improve on their performance, to compensate for the commitment and sacrifice of the state government.
“We brought Chewdeck and also engaged a special security outfit, KSA Security, to make sure we get it right. We are very serious about this, because the issue of security nearly consumed us last season, as we almost go on relegation.

It would be recalled that Kwara United Football Club entered into partnership with Chewdeck, especially on issues of match tickets, with the club now making over N1 million par match since the take off of the arrangement.
Mallam Thuraya, who also admitted that security issues are now improving during Kwara United matches, commended the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for approving the construction of perimeter fence and other fundamental issues at the Rashidi Yekini Main-Bowl of the George Agbazika Innih Stadium Complex, Ilorin.
He pointed out the the police are the main agencies in charge of security at the Stadium, with other security agencies complementing their efforts, so as to have effective delivery every Matchday.
“What we are avoiding is to ensure a water tight security. The Governor has helped us with the perimeter fences and other measures, and now, spectators go out after matches from when they come in, without encroaching on technical areas.

The General Manager of the Club, Mallam Bashir Badawiy calls on stakeholders to assist the team by encouraging the players, who he said, are relatively young, to play with absolute confidence.
“We need the support and cooperation of all. We are sure of the players we recruited. And I will also want to add, that we should always verify issues in and around the club, and not run it down.
The Secretary of the Club, Mr. Azeez Kehinde Bello highlighted on some of the measures already put in place at ensuring adequate security at the match venue, and has equally raised the ticket fees, to raise more revenue, even as he call for cooperation.
Among other speakers are Hameed Adio, representatives of Kwara State Football Referees Council, Nigeria Football Coaches Association, Kwara State Chapter, the Nigeria Police, Supporters and Fans Club, Kwara Football Veterans and the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara State Chapter.
The gathering agreed to the ban on hawking inside the Main-Bowl during matches, improve ticketing management to check leakage and compromise.
Others present at the ceremony are Dele Abubakar and Yunusa Lade, both Board members of the Commission, Chairman of Kwara United Queen Football Club, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Owolabi Wopa Agbaji, and Hamzat Lawalson, among others.
