Meet Kingsley Iheme who plays Professional football in Slovakia

The name Kingsley Kemakolam Iheme may not ring so much bell in many ears in Nigeria as far as football is concerned.

From Owerri-North Local Government Area of Imo State, the 30-year-old centre forward plies his professional trade with Slovakian 3rd Division side, SKF Sered, a team he joined two months ago from ATSV Stadl-Paura of Austria.

At 1.75 metres tall, the striker can also play as a wide man.

He has had stints with clubs like Kalna n. Hronom of Slovakia, Slovan Galanta, Duslo Sala, Slovan Nemsova, Neded and MSK Puchov, among others.

Born in Benin City, Edo State, Iheme began his football career with Warri Wolves Football Club in Delta State, and it was a dream-come-true for him when he started playing professionally.

A graduate of Political Science from the famous Benson Idahosa University, Benin City, Edo State, the energetic and deadly attacker has netted eight times and assisted five goals in twelve appearances for his current club, with endless appetite for more goals.

Though the leagues in Slovakia are currently on break, once they resume in January, 2023, Iheme would have fully recovered from an Achilles Cruciate Ligament injury he sustained and return to his goalscoring form in the Pre-season and subsequently in the League.

Together with his compatriot and Super Eagles’ goalkeeper, Matthew Yakubu, Iheme is among a few Nigerian players making the Slovakian League competitive and famous.

SKF Sered use the 5,800-capacity Sered Stadium as their home ground in the 16-team Slovakian Liga(3rd Division).
