Mega boxing bouts 2021, tagged ‘Another A for AA, Oti Sure Ju’, and being organized by the Kwara State Amateur Boxing Association will come up today, at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Kwara State Sports Council, Ilorin.
Eight bouts have been scheduled to come up, in the competition that is being competed by boxers from Kwara Oyo and Osun states.
Sulaiman Ahmed from Kwara will take the centre stage against Sodiq AbdulRahman from Oyo state in the 52kg category, very first bout.
In the 56kg category, another Kwaran, Liadi Azeez will battle Olamoyero Adetunji of Osun state, while Abdulganiyu Yinus, also of Kwara state fights Rasheed Ahmed from Oyo state in the 60kg category.
Olarewaju Sulaiman (Kwara) will be up against Oladiti Abdullahi (Oyo) in the 64KG in the fourth bout, as Saheed Jamiu from Kwara takes on another Oyo boxer, Keleb Ayoade in another 64KG fight.
Bout number six will be between Jimoh Ismail (Kwara) and Rufai Ibrahim Damilare (Osun) in 69Kg class, Shuaib Yakub (Kwara) against Ogundokun Sodiq (Offa) in the 75Kg category, while the last bout of the competition will be between Abdullahi Ibrahim (Kwara) and Hammed Adekunle (Oyo), in the 81Kg class.
The Chairman, Kwara State Amateur Boxing Association, Barrister Ahmed Musa Rufai
said that the aim was to discover boxers in the mould of Anthony Joshua.
The Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq is expected to lead other dignitaries to the boxing event which will commence at 1.00pm.
