The organisers of the N-Youth League Cup have commended Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club of Ilorin for their show of professionalism in the ongoing U19 championship.
ABS FC hosted Plateau Jets in Ilorin on Friday October 25, 2024, in a rescheduled Matchday Three encounter, which ended goalless. The rescheduled encounter held at the Main-Bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin.
In a message personally signed by the President of the N-Youth League Cup, Robinson Adakosa, the organisers equally commended the Centre Referee, Olayinka Busayo for been upright throughout the game.
“We as the organizers of the N-Youth League Cup wishes to commend the ABS FC management, staff and players for displaying true sportsmanship in the just concluded match against Plateau Jets FC that was held on Friday, in Ilorin.
“This is what we want all the participating teams to do throughout the season.
“The greatest thanks goes to the leadership of ABS FC (U19). The referees that officiated fairly and uprightly, because the ABS FC management did their part by warning against bad officiating, favouritism and reiterated their commitment to allow free and fair play for all.
“But for ABS FC’s professionalism, the referees would have officiated badly against the visiting team of Plateau Jets FC. This is worthy of emulation by all parties. We want to be hearing and reading positive update like this in all our upcoming games.
“Let me once again thank ABS FC entire team and management for this act of hospitality and transparency. I’m sure you have inspired so many of us to follow such footsteps”, Adakosa added.
One of the officials of Plateau Jets FC U19 team, Sammy Adesoji had earlier praised ABS FC for its hospitality, and the referee for been upright.
According to Adesoji, “I must commend the Center Referee in the match between hosts, ABS FC U-19 and Plateau Jets SC.
“The Referee was fair, firm and took charge of the encounter the way it ought to be without sentiment or affiliation. That’s what is called officiating at its professional peak. Kudos to him. How I wish the erring others will toe same path”.
