Ofe Aran Commercial College, Omu-Aran, has become the latest beneficiary of the CAF School Football Development Initiative, as the programme reaches Kwara South Senatorial District.

The initiative, which has already impacted schools across Kwara Central and Kwara North, is designed to promote grassroots football development and nurture young talents at the school level, providing a solid foundation for the future of the game in Nigeria.

Speaking on the development, the Principal of the school, Mr. Oyewole Oluwagbenga Abiodun, expressed appreciation to the Kwara State Football Association, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for extending the programme to the school.

He described the initiative as a timely intervention that would inspire students, encourage participation in sports, and help identify budding football talents within the school community.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Kwara State Football Association, Alhaji Idris Abdullahi Musa Thuraya, who was represented by Mr Emmanuel Sunday Joel, Chairman Irepodun Local Football Council, commended the Football Council Chairmen across the state for their unwavering support in ensuring the smooth implementation of the initiative.

He further lauded CAF and the NFF for their commitment to grassroots football development, noting that programmes like this are critical to discovering and nurturing the next generation of football stars.

The CAF School Football Development Initiative continues to gain momentum across Kwara State, reinforcing efforts to strengthen football at the grassroots and create pathways for young players to thrive.
