Korners Sporting FC, led by Super Eagles star Olakunle Olusegun, emerged champions of the maiden OK7 Arena 6-a-side football tournament after a thrilling victory over Saints Sword in a pulsating final that lit up the OK7 Arena.
OK7 Arena, a 6-a-side mini-football pitch was constructed by the former ABS FC player, to support grassroots football development, with the tournament used to open the Arena.
Backed by the experience and leadership of Olakunle, Korners Sporting FC displayed class, discipline and tactical awareness throughout the competition, culminating in a hard-fought triumph against a determined Saints Sword side that had impressed fans with their flair and resilience on their way to the final.
The final encounter lived up to expectations as both teams traded attacks in a fast-paced contest befitting the intensity of 6-a-side football.
Saints Sword pushed forward with confidence, but Korners Sporting FC’s composure, teamwork and sharp finishing proved decisive, as they edged their opponents to secure the historic title.

His brother, Ebenezer Olusegun scored all three go’s for his side, marking the first hat-trick in his emerging football career.
Olakunle’s influence was evident both on and off the pitch, as he inspired his teammates with leadership and professionalism, reflecting the pedigree of a player who has represented Nigeria at the highest level.
His presence not only lifted Korners Sporting FC but also added glamour and credibility to the tournament.
Six clubs battled for honours in the contest, which are the eventual wínners, Korners Sporting FC, Mufas Interiors and Saints Sword, all in Group A, and FireBoys, Tony Sports with BRT in Group B.


Korners Sporting FC defeated Tony Sports by a lone goal in the first semi-final, while Saints Sword beat FireBoys 4-1 in the second semi-final.
FireBoys defeated Tony Sports 3-1 on penalties in the third place match after playing out a two-all draw on regulation time.
Korners Sporting FC emerged champions after recording a 3-2 victory over Saints Sword FC.
Speaking after the match, the Captain of Korners Sporting FC, Monday John praised the OK7 Arena competition organisers for providing a platform that promotes grassroots football and brings talents together in a competitive yet entertaining environment.
He described the victory as a reward for hard work and unity, while dedicating the title to their supporters.

The maiden OK7 Arena 6-a-side tournament was widely hailed as a success, with fans commending the quality of football, organisation and sportsmanship on display.
With Korners Sporting FC now etched into history as the first champions, expectations are already high for an even bigger and better second edition.
A special award was presented to Olakunle Olusegun by the Proprietor of Tony Sports, Mr Tony.
