Sobi FM promises to support, and participate in SWAN Media Games

The Management of a prominent private radio station in Kwara state, Sobi FM, Ilorin has promised to support and participate fully in the forthcoming Kwara State Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, (SWAN) Media Games 2021.

The promise was made Friday by a member of the stations board of Trustees and Supervisory-Director, Alhaji Kayode Mustapha, when the Main Organising Committee (MOC) of the Games, led by the State Chairman of SWAN, Mallam Bashir Jimoh, paid him a courtesy visit at the station’s Hill top studio.

The station and the organising committee appreciate the fact that sports is unifying phenomenon in the society and the need for media practitioners to have a particular period of time in a year to unwind and fraternise with other practitioners across the state.

Earlier in his remarks, the SWAN Chairman commended the station role in redefine sports casting and reportage in Kwara state, which confirms its status as the go-to radio station when it comes sport reportage and presentations in its area of coverage.

On the entourage of Mallam Jimoh are; Messrs Olayinka Owolewa (state secretary of SWAN), Ayodeji Ismail, Mike Adeyemi, and Abdul Momoh.

The Game billed to hold between 6th and 9th of October 2021, will feature events like football, volleyball, table tennis, tennis, dart, scrabble, draft, chess, ayo olopon, badminton and walk race

Just like Sobi FM, Radio Kwara, The Herald Newspaper, Correspondentsā€™ and Sate Information Chapels have all signified their readiness to participate in the multi-sports event.

The Committee, in continuation of its awareness drive, will visit NTA, Ilorin, Federal Information Chapel, National Pilot, Kwara TV, National Orientation Agency (NOA) and others, next week.
