It was a celebration of sporting skills and styles, excitement, determination, unity and team spirit, as Forte Credence International School, Ita Aisa, Ilorin celebrated its very first inter-house athletics competition at the University of Ilorin Sports Complex, on Wednesday February 19, 2025.

The tone was set by the Proprietor of the school, Pastor Emmanuel Adeleke, while declaring the games open, when he said that “it’s not just about winning medals, it is about pushing boundaries, setting personal records, and celebrating the spirit of unity”.

“It’s about the energy, the enthusiasm, and the sheer joy of being part of this year’s Inter-House Sports competition that make this day truly special. Seeing all of you gathered here, ready to compete, cheer, and celebrate, fills my heart with immense pride and happiness”.

“At Forte Credence International School, we do not just teach, we inspire. And today, we are here to celebrate the power of sports, the power that teaches us to push beyond our limits, to work as a team, and to always strive for excellence”.

“This competition is not just about winning medals; it is about the lessons we learn, the friendships we build, and the memories we create. Sports give us the ability to dream big, to stay focused, and to overcome obstacles with determination and passion”.

“To our amazing learners, this is your day. Go out there and give it your best. Run faster, jump higher, Show the world your strength, your dedication, and your unyielding spirit. Whether you win or not, always remember that participation itself is a victory because it pushes you to grow and become better than you were yesterday.

Let’s enjoy the games, support one another, and most importantly, have fun.

The Chairman of the occasion, Smart Olanipekun, who is the Educational Consultant to the School equally described sports as an activity that goes beyond competition. “They instill discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and resilient qualities that shape young minds for success, both on and

off the field”.

“True victory is not just about crossing the finishing line first, but about the lessons learnt, friendships formed, and unforgettable memories created. Whether you win or not, remember that you are all champions”

He appreciated the pupils and students,, teachers, parents, and those who supported the games, pointing out that their presence underscored the importance of sports in education and personal development. He equally commended the Organizing Committee, and school staff who have worked tirelessly to ensure the success of this event.

Among the activities that marked the day were Match Past by the competing Houses, 25m, 75m and 100m races for senior and junior classes, filling the bottles, sack race, 4×100 relay for both junior and senior classes, staff and parents races, as well as schools invitational relay race.

Yellow House emerged champions, with Green and Red Houses coming second and third. Blue House came fourth.
