SWAN commends Gov AbdulRazaq on rehabilitation works at Kwara Stadium Complex

Information available to the Kwara chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), has it that there are massive on-going facilities rehabilitation at the State Stadium Complex, Ilorin by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration. 

The state Secretary of the association, Olayinka Owolewa, in a statement on Friday, said the body is delighted to learn of the on-going rehabilitation of the abandoned gigantic hostel inside Kwara Stadium Complex, Ilorin. 

“We are aware that work has commenced at the B wing of the hostel and once that is completed, the contractor will move to A and C wings according to information available to us. 

“This is very commendable, Your Excellency” Owolewa said. 

The body also hinted in the statement that the Governor has approved and released part payment for the rehabilitation of the twin basketball and volleyball courts close to the swimming pool. 

The Kwara SWAN Scribe said the association’s investigation also revealed that a decision to fix the swimming pool and the handball court is at the advance stage. 

According to the statement, Governor AbdulRazaq has also approved the construction of a new covered table tennis hall. 

“We want to sincerely thank his Excellency for these projects. We believe when completed, they will aid the development of sports in the state. 

“His Excellency has demonstrated and shown he is a sport loving Governor and we are not surprised because of his antecedent in sports.
