The 2020 National Sports Festival has finally been scheduled to hold from December 3 to 17, 2020 sportsbash.com.ng can authoritatively confirm.
The re-scheduling of the new date was part of resolutions reached by the Nigeria Council on Sports (NCS), after a three-day meeting in Asaba, Delta State capital this week.
The new dates were approved by the Council.
The meeting which was held from 4th to 6th November discussed among other things, the National Principals Cup, the National Headmasters Cup, The Nigeria Sport Industry Policy as well as considered Memorandums from states.
the meeting had the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare in attendance.
Others who attended the meeting include the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Gabriel Aduda, President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Habu Gumel, Youth and Sports Commissioners of all the states, Chairmen of State Sports Council, Directors of Sports, Presidents of Sports Federations and major stakeholders.
The meeting had two sessions; a Technical Session chaired by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Gabriel Aduda on day one while the other session on day two were chaired by the Minister, Mr. Sunday Dare.
President Mohammadu Buhari approved the indefinite postponement of the National Sports Festival tagged Edo 2020 in March, as a precautionary move against Covid-19 spread.
