ABS FC/PTDP Nationwide scouting programme best in recent times

The Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike has hailed Abubakar Bukola Saraki Players’ Talent Hunt and Development Programme, describing it as the best in recent times.

Chief Ejidike, who was the Special Guest of Honour at the last day of the scouting process for North Central Zone at the Kwara Football Academy today, Sunday August 11, 2024, in Ilorin also commended the standard displayed by the selected players.

“The fact that players were selected from the six geo-political zones makes the ABS FC Talent Hunt programme the best, as more than enough players nationwide have been offered the opportunity to be tested, and the best ones picked”, Chief Ejidike averred.

“The organisation, branding, technical output, especially as evidenced with the standard displayed by the talents picked from this centre attests to the genuineness of the process. This is quite commendable”, the Nigeria Pillar of Sports said.

The Players Talent Hunt and Development Programme kick started in North West Zone, Kaduna, and went through North East (Bauchi), South South (Calabar), South East (Owerri, which was put on hold due to security reasons), South West (Ado-Ekiti), and concluded with that of North Central, in Ilorin.

“Also, doing this throughout the nation, through the zones underscores the importance attached to the initiative by Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club, which is arguably one of the best private football clubs in Nigeria.

The ABS FC PTDD initiative was designed to unearth and nurture top footballing talent in Nigeria, and make tham ready for transfer to the European market.

The programme is being executed in collaboration with ABS FC’s international partners, with Shogo Shodunnke of Phreestyle Sport providing Consultancy services.
