Ajulo-Opin sponsored Ileya Football Competition, tagged ‘Asoju Oba Cup’ debuts in Kwara South

Youth from Kwara South will be kept busy by football stakeholders next month, as the maiden edition of Ileya Football Competition has been scheduled to hold between Sunday June 2nd, and Monday June 17th, 2024.

The proposed competition, which is open to only interested teams from Kwara South will be sponsored by Hon. (Chief) Raheem Olawuyi Ajulo-Opin.

Tagged ‘Asoju Oba Cup’, the competition will hold at the Government Secondary School, Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.

Hon. Ajuloopin is a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/and Oke-Ero federal constituency of Kwara State.

The Chairman, House Committee on Emergency and Disaster has continued to delivered quality representation by dutifully carrying out his legislative functions to the benefit of his constituents, including youth and sports development.

Hon. Ajulo-Opin has implemented many impactful projects and programmes in education, health, agriculture, human capital development and social welfare to improve well being of his constituents, and, also on record was his efforts at constructing the Stadium in Omu-Aran.

When completed, the multi-faceted Township Stadium will house an array of modern sports amenities, including a cutting-edge football pitch, running tracks, a well-appointed long tennis court, a volleyball court, and various indoor sports facilities, which would further contribute to the cultural and recreational vibrancy of the entire constituency.

According to the Organizing Committee, the competition was introduced to strengthen the unity among Kwara Southerners, and especially, complement sports development efforts and improve youth development and security architecture in the area.

They enjoined clubs in the area to take advantage of the opportunity, even as they called on well meaning Kwara Southerners to support the initiative.
